PENDLE LABOUR MOURN THE LOSS OF HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN
It is with great sadness that Pendle Labour Party have learned of the death of our beloved Queen Elizabeth II. Our deepest sympathies go out to her family who have lost a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
The people of Pendle, like those across the country and around the world share in their grief.
Leader of the Labour Group on Pendle Borough Council, Councillor Asjad Mahmood said:
“I am deeply saddened to receive the news that Queen Elizabeth II has passed away.
My deepest condolences to the Royal Family and all the British people. For decades she has been an embodiment of everything that makes Britain truly Great.
Queen Elizabeth II was easily the world’s most recognisable head of state during an extraordinarily long reign.
Through great triumphs and great challenges, the Queen’s steady leadership safeguarded the land she loved. The Queen made sure her reign was never really about herself — not her fame, not her feelings, not her personal wants or needs. She guided venerable institutions through modern times, using timeless virtues like duty, dignity, and sacrifice.
She will be missed and remembered all over the world. A sad day for our great country.”
